What is Keep Going?
“When you're going through hell, keep going." This podcast is about failure and how it breeds success. Every week, we talk to remarkable people who have accomplished great things but have also faced failure along the way. By exploring their experiences, we can learn how to build, succeed, and stay humble. The podcast is hosted by author and former TechCrunch and New York Times journalist John Biggs. He also hosts the Startup Show with Grit Daily, a podcast focused on brand new startups. If you’d like to appear on Keep Going, email john@biggs.cc. If you’d like to pitch on the Startup Show, please email Spencer Hulse (Spencer@gritdaily.com). Our theme music is by Policy, AKA Mark Buchwald. (https://freemusicarchive.org/music/policy/) TechCrunch is dead. Sifted is dead. Mashable is dead. Who still cares about startups? Me. Founded by former TechCrunch, New York Times, and Gizmodo editor John Biggs, Keep Going is an independent podcast and publication dedicated to exploring the dynamic relationship between technology and its users. With a passion for startups and a mission to uncover stories that bring new tech innovations to light, Keep Going goes beyond corporate boardrooms and market trends. Instead, it explores into the real impact of technology on people’s lives—covering everything from under-the-radar trends and internet phenomena to significant policy shifts and platform changes that shape the online world. Nobody in the tech space is doing what I’m doing. I spent 20 years as a tech journalist and loved to turn small startups into behemoths, including championing companies like Raspberry Pi, Makerbot, and Patreon. I believe entrepreneurship is an engine for change and love to interview founders. Nobody will do what I’m doing: I ask founders why they failed and how they solved their problems. I cover small and large startups without agenda. I talk to therapists and experts who work to help entrepreneurs thrive.
The results speak for themselves:
Unlike legacy tech media, Keep Going is built on a belief that the true story of technology lies with those who build and use it. I currently do everything alone and my mission is to cover the movements and individuals who influence and define the digital landscape. If Keep Going secures enough support, I want to expand with paid contributors to provide even deeper, more diverse perspectives on these evolving stories. Let’s pull entrepreneurship news out of the funding news ghetto and get good ideas noticed. What does Keep Going offer?Delivered 2-3 times a week, Keep Going primarily includes articles between 600-1200 words, covering startups and analysis from unique angles. It also features in-depth interviews to keep readers engaged with the latest developments in technology and culture. John’s recent work includes pieces on AI, how to save your relationship as a founder, and chats with some of the coolest startups on the planet. Why subscribe?Keep Going is entirely independent and thus free from corporate influence or institutional investors. Startup Show: This connected ball gets your kids off of their iPads
"70% of kids drop out of sports by age 13."
In this episode of the Startup Show, I interview Pippa Boothman, CEO of Playfinity, a company dedicated to keeping kids active through gamified sports. We discuss the innovative products Playfinity offers, including a gaming baseball and soccer ball, and the challenges of expanding into new markets. The conversation highlights the importance of engaging kids in physical activity and the strategies Playfinity employs to reach its target audience.
